FAQs – Everything you need to know about what we´re doing.

> I´m not sure what kind of works I need?

Due to the very large range of works which can be done, simply contact us and we talk about the services you need. Please check out the contact site.

> How do I prepare my song / recording for you?

It depends mainly on the service you need.
For mixing and mastering , please download our info-sheet for customer deliveries. All steps are described in it. If you are not sure about something, please contact us. There is a solution for everything. 🙂

For all other works (editing, producing, etc.) please contact us, if something needs to be clarified.

> Will my files / project be archived?

Yes, all files will be stored on different locations (Server + 2x Hard-Drives) to guarantee a long term availability of all files. We want to be able to have access to all sessions as long as possible.

> Can I directly send my sessions to you?

We prefer single mono or stereo files. Since we´re working with our own configured software it is easier for us to import and convert your files to our standard.

> Is it possible to record in your studio?

Since we have no big recording / live room, we recommend to do especially drum recordings in a specialised recording studio. Everything beside that is generally possible. (guitars, bass, vocals, etc.)

> What is Hi-Res audio?

All digitally recorded audio files from now and the past have, like a video, a sample rate. A standard CD works with 44.1kHz, that means the audio signal is reproduced with 44.100 samples / values per second of the signal. The most simple explanation for it would be: The higher the sample-rate, the more detailed will be the audio-file.

We’re working on a 96kHz basis. So, all processors work with more than double the sample rate of a standard audio CD. This will guarantee an absolutely lossless audio recording and mix with a clearer and crisper sound, without any kind of unwanted distortion.

> My music isn´t recorded / produced in Hi-Res, what now?

Generally, the difference in quality is there, but:
Since we do upsampling, if we’re receiving a standard 44.1kHz recording, all effects, harmonics of the analogue circuits, etc. will be processed on a 96kHz basis. This can not change the quality of the base-recording, but everything which will be “added” to the signal happens on that high-resolution basis.

> Can my record sound like band “A” or band “B”

Yes, if you really want that, then it is possible. We’re asking all clients for reference tracks.
Normally, all reference tracks will be used as a kind of map for our project. In our opinion it is always better to create a unique sound which fits to the band / artist / project, so please think about that.
But in general:
The better the recording, the better will be the result. The digital world is able to do a lot of works after the actual recording. But also, a computer is not able to let a 100 € self recorded album sound like a 10.000 € fully produced studio-project. So, please be aware of that.

> I found a much cheaper studio / producer. Why are your prices higher?

A price is mostly based on the amount of time someone puts into your project. Please be careful with “I´ll do your professional mix for 50 €” offers. You may have to pay the bill twice!

> How does the payment work?

The standard terms of payment are: 50% advanced payment and 50% after approval.
All direct payments will be done via standard bank transfer.

For international clients:
All invoices outside of Germany will be sent as net invoices. The sales tax on our services are subject to the reverse charge procedure in that case.
